This Privacy Policy is intended to provide the persons, who provide BioSistemika their personal data through the website https://biosistemika.com/ or via e-mail, phone, fax or via other means of electronic or written communication or at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences or similar gatherings or at meetings with information regarding the processing of personal data collected directly from such persons (i.e. data subjects). 

Data subjects usually provide the following personal data:

  • e-mail;
  • name;
  • organizational affiliation (i.e. employer);
  • phone number;
  • location;
  • job title;
  • other personal data;

all on a voluntary basis or on the basis of previous or current business cooperation between the data subject or its employer and BioSistemika, and all associated with the professional functions of the data subject.

4. Purpose of Processing of Personal Data & Legal Basis for Processing

BioSistemika, as the data controller, may process the personal data for the following purposes:

  • sending a newsletter to data subjects subscribing to the newsletter, whereas a data subject may opt-out from the subscription at any time (consent of the data subject and legitimate interest of the data controller);
  • reply to inquiries sent by data subjects (consent of the data subject);
  • scheduling meetings (consent of the data subject);
  • sending data subjects information regarding products and services or engaging them regarding potential business opportunities, whereas a data subject may opt-out from the correspondence at any time (consent of the data subject and legitimate interests of the data controller).

Personal data processed for the purpose of sending data subjects newsletters, information regarding products and services or engaging them regarding potential business opportunities is, in addition to being processed on the basis of consent, processed based on the legitimate interests of the data controller. When launching or advertising any of its products or services or when sending information regarding existing products or services, promotions, information on potential business opportunities etc., BioSistemika uses the contact and other information of data subjects for direct marketing or sales purposes – legitimate interests of BioSistemika to use professional contact information of data subjects to contact them in connection with their professional functions. 

BioSistemika may combine the personal data that data subjects provide themselves with publicly available personal data of data subjects, associated with their professional functions.

5. Categories of Recipients

Recipients of personal data will be employees and contractors of BioSistemika and subcontractors BioSistemika uses for provision of certain data management services.

6. Retention Period

BioSistemika will process the personal data no longer than necessary in order to achieve the purposes of processing or until such time as the consent for processing is withdrawn.

BioSistemika reserves the right to retain personal data beyond the typical retention period in cases where BioSistemika faces threats of legal claims. In such cases the retention period will last until the claim or threat of claim has been resolved.

7. Rights of Data Subject

Data subject has the following rights in relation to their personal information, if applicable:

  • to request access to personal information and information related to BioSistemika’s use and processing of data subject’s personal information;
  • to request the correction or deletion of data subject’s personal information;
  • to request that BioSistemika restricts the use of data subject’s personal information, if technically viable;
  • to receive personal information, which the data subject has provided to BioSistemika in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (e.g. an Excel spreadsheet) and the right to have that personal information transferred to another data controller (including a third party data controller), if applicable;
  • to object to the processing of data subject’s personal information;
  • to withdraw data subject’s consent to BioSistemika’s use of data subject’s personal information at any time, where BioSistemika relies on data subject’s consent to use or process that personal information. If the data subject withdraws consent, this will not affect the lawfulness of use and processing of data subject’s personal information on the basis of consent before the point in time when the consent was withdrawn.
