Dr. Jana Erjavec holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. She has years of experience in life science and diagnostics laboratory work and more than eight years in the laboratory software space as a co-owner and Chief Commercial Officer at BioSistemika, a renowned custom software development company for IVD medical devices and the life-science industry.
She published numerous articles on laboratory digitalization and co-edited a book, Digital Transformation of the Laboratory: A Practical Guide to the Connected Lab. She held many lectures internationally on laboratory digitalization, transformation, and sustainability. Her passion is laboratory digitalization and new software product development in life sciences and the IVD space. She believes that advanced software tools play a significant role in advancing science and diagnostics.
Jan Škufca
Application Specialist @ BioSistemika
Jan Škufca is an Application Specialist at BioSistemika with expertise in IVD and 21 CFR Part 11 software development. He has successfully assisted numerous clients in meeting IVD and Part 11 requirements for their software. In addition, Jan also manages projects, offering a holistic understanding of software development, from requirement gathering to product deployment.
Jan holds a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology and has a four-year background in the pharmaceutical industry, covering both research and GMP-regulated environment. His tenure in the life science industry has made him well-versed in the industry trends, regulations, and end-user software expectations.
He is deeply passionate about innovations in life sciences and takes pride in being part of a software development company that specializes in serving the life science industries. He has also authored numerous articles that delve into the role of software and digitalization within this industry.
